The order appealed from quashed an alternative writ of prohibition which the plaintiff Roger Schulter had obtained to prevent the defendant County Judge Leonard F. Roraff of La Crosse county from proceeding in a case entitled State of Wisconsin v. Roger Schulter. That case arose out of an automobile accident which occurred on May 15, 1967, on a county trunk highway in La Crosse county. Schulter, aged twenty-three years, was the owner of an automobile which he allowed Peter Cavadini, a seventeen-year-old boy, to drive. Besides Schulter and Cavadini, the other passengers included a man of twenty-eight years and three other seventeen-year-old boys. The Schulter car collided with an automobile owned and operated by Peter Fink, which contained three passengers. In the collision the four seventeen-year-old boys in the Schulter car and a passenger in the Fink car were killed.
